If salesmen treated their dates the same way they treat their customers, then most would be on a registry right now. Whole point of salesmanship is to get people to act against their own interests.

You usually don't need to influence people's emotions when you're trying to get them to behave rationally. And if you're not trying to get them to behave rationally, then how can claim to be anything besides bad actor?

If you treated the customers like real kings and queens, then you'd be giving them the money. That's how feudalism worked. You're in fact treating them like peasants.
