I do agree with you, I'm a gypsy and we're horse people too. So similar philosophy. Also the same reason I like Indians, they often have horse philosophy, it's easy to understand them.
And I do agree with you, I do not believe in grand narratives (that's the historian term for it), in fact I wrote an article called "progress" where I don't even ascribe to the idea of progressive ideas. For instance ending racism, what's progressive about turning the clock back to 1450?
So we are absolutely in agreement. What I would say however is that death and resurrection is a cycle to me. Life and death is a cycle. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust is generally our motto.
