Freedom is too much of an abstraction in my opinion. In fact, it's kind of a paradox. If I gave you absolute freedom to do absolutely anything, then you'd have an existential crisis within a week.
You'd have no frame of reference in terms of risk/reward consideration, and nothing would cost anything, so you'd instantly find yourself in an existence without value. It would just become very empty and fleeting hedonism.
Freedom produced such lowly beings as kings, dictators and billionaires. These are the sorts who have freedom in their lives, and carry it like a burden.
Truth is that we are a species evolved for more admirable things than freedom. We enjoy purpose, and motives, and struggle, and achievement. All of which rob us of our freedom. We are steered by passions and callings and causes.
We are willing to die for things, to devote our health, our sleepless nights and our safety to create extraordinary things.
We are also driven by the recognition of others, we desire community, and good will and decency, we wear such chains with pride.
And thank god for that, last thing I'd want is to be an animal in the woods.
