Excellent article. I have followed the events of Euromaidan for the 8 years leading up to the war, both reading Eastern and Western sources. It reminded me of George Orwell when the war started. Western news began censoring themselves and removing articles about Azov and Euromaidan, like when Orwell wrote about how "We have always been at war with Eastasia."

But what was even more confounding is how everyone fell for it, and had no memory of the past. Suddenly people are praising the Azovs and sending money to them. They say good things about Stephan Bandera and worship Ukraine's army.

I think most stereotypes about the Soviet Union are far more accurate when you apply them to western corporations. That is where you see real propaganda that makes people unable to understand reality.
